"There is no such thing as bad weather, only different kinds of good weather."

How it all began...
Most meteorologists say they've known they wanted to study the weather from a young age. However, as much as I enjoyed putting together weather projects at school, watching storms, and playing in the rain, I never imagined that this shy kid from Wadsworth, Ohio would end up on TV.
I loved constructing rain gauges, thermometers, and anemometers in elementary school, but what solidified my love of weather was an earth science course my senior year of high school. It covered oceanography and meteorology and I fell in love with the science. I took it as a sign that I loved studying for the exams and doing the homework; something told me to pursue meteorology further. So that's what I did. In May of 2013, I graduated from Ohio University with a Bachelor of Science degree in meteorology-geography and a minor in communication studies.
While at OU, I had the opportunity to work at the campus news station, WOUB, as an on-air forecaster for four years. This is where I discovered how much I loved forecasting the weather and bringing the information to the community. While at WOUB, I learned the basics of constructing graphics and how to craft them into a weather story. Later, I would become a mentor to other forecasters and assist in training. I had the opportunity to anchor a few shows for NewsWatch, WOUB's week night news program as well as learn the basics of Final Cut Pro.
In addition to working for WOUB, I also held internships at WEWS (2011) and WKYC (2012) in Cleveland, OH. During my internships, I learned additional forecasting skills, on-camera and presentation skills, as well as assisted in severe weather chats, and wrote weather web briefings for the public.
I accepted my first job at Your Hometown Lima Stations in September of 2013 as a weekend meteorologist and weekday MMJ in Lima, OH. After three months on weekends, I applied for and was promoted to morning/noon meteorologist/MMJ. After a little more than three years in Lima, I accepted a position as weekend meteorologist/ MMJ at the ABC affiliate in Lexington, KY. in September 2016. In addition to my weather responsibilities, I also worked as an MMJ, co-anchor, live reporter, assistant producer, and digital producer. In November of 2018, I began my career with Sinclair Broadcast Group and took a meteorologist/reporter position with Mid-Michigan NOW in Flint, MI, which turned into a weather and digital producer position. I began freelancing at News 5 Cleveland in February 2021.
Editing, graphics, and news systems I am proficient in include WSI, Baron Lynx, Weather Metrics, ENPS, I-News, Final Cut Pro, Edius 7, Avid, DaVinci Resolve, Social News Desk, Storyline, Word Press, and Syndicaster. I also know how to operate a Dejero, LiveU, and JVC field camera.
